Throughout the basketball season, Cheney, Douglass and Wichita Trinity controlled the Central Plains League. The three teams control the all-league team as well. Douglass tops the list with three players on either the first or second team. Senior Blake Nachbor gives the Bulldogs a first-team selection, while junior Jared Holthaus and senior Jake Lovendahl both made the all-league second team. Douglass finished the year in second place in the CPL with an 8-1 league record and a 20-3 overall record.

Of the seven teams that compete in the Central Plains League, six of them earned positions on the CPL All-League selection list. Medicine Lodge won the league and had a total of six names on this years list, four of which were 1st teamers. Chaparral was not far behind as they were awarded five positions, two of them being on the 1st team. This was no surprise because these two team competed very well against each other all year. Medicine Lodge (19-3) lost two games against Chaparral (13-7)

Campus boasts the most players on the Ark Valley-Chisolm Trail Div. I first team. The Colts placed five players on the first team to Hutchinson's and Maize's three apiece. Both Salina teams saw two players make the cut and Derby, the lone team in the league to make it to the state tournament, placed just one player on the first team. The Western Athletic Conference has announced their 2012 All-League Baseball selections. Hays dominated the WAC with an 8-0 record, naming them the WAC Team Champions. Hays also had five players on the First Team, while Great Bend and Dodge City had three players each on the First Team. Andover Central completed an undefeated regular season, but lost in the final round of Sub-State to Bishop Carroll. Despite the upset, the Jaguars garnered two first-team selections and five total selections to the AVCTL Division II All-League teams. Jorden Kaufman and Cole Kretchmar made the first-team for Andover Central. The McPherson duo of Cody Cape and Jordan Hart also scored spots on the first-team. Eisenhower's Zach Bush was honored as the Player of the Year. Andover senior Robert Peare rounded out the first-team.

The 2013 North Central Activities Association spring All NCAA teams have been announced, and much like the action on the diamonds this season, the all league selections mimiced the play on the fields with Sacred Heart dominating the All League softball selections and Southeast of Saline dominating the All League baseball seclections. The Southeast of Saline Trojans won the 2013 NCAA baseball title with a 9-1 NCAA record, 17-5 overall, and had five individuals named All NCAA. The Sacred Heart Knights, the only NCAA team to qualify for state, finished second in the NCAA with a 6-2 NCAA record, 15-6 overall, had three All NCAA baseball selections.

Medicine Lodge and Wichita Trinity were the top two baseball teams in the Central Plains league standings this season, so it comes as no surprise that they also have the most all-league selections. Each team ended up with four first-team selections and six total selections including honorable-mention players. Late-season upstart Douglass got two players on the first team. Douglass went into regionals with a sub-.500 record and reeled off three wins in a row over teams that were a combined 57-3 to get into the semifinal round at state.

Andover Central was bounced in the first round of state and Newton failed to qualify, but that did not keep them from leading the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches first-team all-state selections with three each. Kyle Johnston, an Andover Central outfielder, was selected to the first team and was named the Class 5A Player of the Year. He was joined by teammates Andy Hewitt and Jason Axtell, who were selected to the first team as a pitcher and first baseman, respectively.

The Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division II has released its all-league baseball team, and Newton leads the way with five first-team selections and nine overall. Newton's Storm Marlar was selected as the player of the year. Marlar was a first-team selection as a pitcher and an outfielder. He was one of four unanimous first-team selections. The unanimous selections were Campus' Justin Burba and Marlar in the outfield, Newton's Baxter Schmidt at second base and Alec Meier of Campus as a pitcher.

The Wheat State League has released its All-League football team. Hope and White City both placed four players each on the first team. Seniors Shilo Goracke, Dwight Davidson and Jordan Mendez along with junior Nathan Lorson were the selections for Hope to the first team. Trent Blythe, Ty Larson, Jaren Nittler and Paris McNeill were White City's selections to the first team. Both the first team and honorable mention teams are below. Western Athletic Conference co-champion Garden City led the way on the All-WAC softball first team with five selections. The Lady Buffaloes finished the season 7-1. Garden City, also co-champion, saw four players selected to the first team. After those top two, Hays had two selections and Dodge City one. Hays led the way for the Western Athletic Conference all-conference team. Not only did the Indians win the league title with an unblemished 4-0 record, but they placed seven players on the first team all-conference. Among those named were Hays quarterback Alex Delton, who still has two years left to play under Coach of the Year Ryan Cornelson, and wide receiver Adam Deterding. Great Bend placed six players on the first team, four of which were on the defense. Garden City placed five players on the first team and Dodge City and Liberal both placed three.

The Andover Lady Trojans won the Ark Valley-Chisolm Trail League Division II championship, and its all-league selections reflected that. Andover placed five players on the first team. Midfielder Laura Sellew was selected as the league's most valuable player. Andover coach Chris Lemons was selected as coach of the year in Div. II Andover came one goal short of making it the state tournament, when it lost to No. 3 Carroll in the final six minutes. Andover Central put three players on the first team and Goddard Eisenhower placed two on the first team.

The 2012 AVCTL Division 1 All-League Team has been announced.  Justin Burba of Campus High School was awarded AVCTL Division 1 Player of the Year, while Rocky Helm of Maize High School was awarded AVCTL Division 1 Coach of the Year. Pratt went undefeated throughout the regular season, and the selections it received to the CKL all-league list reflect that. The Lady Greenbacks took 11 spots on the list, two more than Hillsboro with nine spots and three more than Hesston with eight spots. Pratt went a perfect 23-0 in the regular season, but lost in the first round of the state championship playoffs to DeSoto, a two-loss No. 6 seed that played for the state championship. Hillsboro took second in the CKL with an 18-2 overall record and 13-2 league record.

Western Athletic Conference champions Dodge City and Hays get top recognition in the league's All-Conference selections.  Boys champion Dodge City finished the season 7-1 in the league, with its only WAC loss coming to rival Garden City on Valentine's Day.  The Red Demons won Bracket A in the Hutchinson sub-state to qualify for the state tournament at Koch Arena in Wichita where they lost to eventual state runner-up Blue Valley Northwest....
