GREAT BEND, Kansas — The Great Bend boys will take their third straight crack at bringing home a state bowling title next week in Wichita. The Panthers held serve on their home lanes, besting Liberal on Saturday to take home the regional crown, by rolling a at team score of 2415, to the Redskins 2364.
"We came out the first two games really tight," said Great Bend head bowling coach Mike Perry. "I told them we need to just relax and have fun that last game. Boy they ratcheted it up and they shot lights out that last game."
Dakota Conaway rolled a 180, 194 and 227 to lead the Panthers with a 601 on the day. The top individual game of the day came from Liberal's Hunter Rinehart who bowled a 264 in his opening game and the best combine score over three games was Austin Gronau of Newton bowling the best individual round of the of the day on the boys side with a 626.
